South Africa, far away and not well known in many countries is situated at the extreme south of the African continent. It will host great long-awaited event by numerous soccer fans all over the world - FIFA 2010. FIFA 2010, also known as World Cup 2010 will be conducted in different cities of South Africa, including the Mother-City - Cape Town. For this official XIXth international soccer competition South Africa will be honoured to embraced 32 famous soccer teams from different parts of the globe.
Huge preparations are being done by the proud host Soccer South Africa of FIFA 2010, the government and other parties. For example, large funds are being spent for expansion of the Cape Town International Airport to welcome important guests from all over the world. Improvement of the national roads, shopping malls, hotels' and cape town lodges' facilities - too many to mention.
The most siginificant for Cape Town of course, is the stadium in Green Point where fans will watch some long-awaited soccer matches. The stadium is situated in the shadow of the world renowned Table Mountain, close to superb beaches and the famous Robben Island where most anti-apartheid political prisoners, including Robert Sobukwe and Nelson Mandela were incarcerated. Opposite the stadium is a golf course and the famous Waterfront Mall with a myriad of different entertainment facilities are a stone's throw away.
